Delete Your Data

Last updated: 30 July 2026

Sprigly stores your data in two places. Your budget — transactions, envelopes, accounts, settings — lives only on your device; we cannot access it. A small amount of account and subscription data (your email, subscription record, and device entries) is held on our servers. You can delete both, as described below — and deleting your account in the app removes both at once.

Delete your on-device budget

Inside the app you can edit or delete individual transactions, envelopes, and accounts at any time. To remove all of your on-device budget data, do any of the following:

  • Erase all data — in the app, go to Settings → Danger Zone → Erase all data. This wipes your budget from the device while keeping your account and the app installed.
  • Uninstall the app — removing Sprigly deletes its local database and all data it contained.
  • Delete your account — deleting your account in the app also erases the on-device budget data automatically. If that step fails, the app tells you and offers to retry; reinstalling the app also removes it.
Device-level backups (for example Google’s own app backup) are controlled by your device and Google account settings, not by Sprigly. If you use such a backup, manage or remove it through those settings.

Delete your account and subscription data

The fastest way to delete your data is in the app. Go to Settings → Account & Subscription → Delete account and type DELETE to confirm. This immediately and permanently:

  • deletes your account, subscription record, and device entries from our servers;
  • deletes your customer record from our subscription provider (RevenueCat);
  • erases the local budget database and your login session from the device you are using.

If you need any further assistance with deleting your data, message us at hello@spriglyapp.com.

Because the app needs an account to unlock, deleting your account while a subscription is still active means you lose access to the app while Google may keep billing you. Cancel your subscription in Google Play first, or at the same time. Deleting your account does not by itself cancel your subscription or issue a refund.

What is not deleted immediately

For security and billing reasons, a few things are not removed at the moment you delete your account:

  • Sign-in logs — security logs from your past sign-ins (IP, device, timestamps) are held by our provider and expire on their own retention schedule rather than being erased at the moment you delete your account.
  • An active subscription may recreate a record — deleting your account does not cancel Google Play billing. If a subscription you did not cancel renews afterwards, Google’s notification can cause our subscription provider to create a fresh record against your old account identifier. Cancel your subscription in Google Play first. Contact us if you believe this may have happened to you and we will remove it.
  • Google’s records — Google keeps its own payment and purchase records under its policies, which we do not control.
